Fun en Español was inspired by my community. My family and I relocated from Florida to Columbus, OH- where my husband grew up- the summer of 2020. Prior to Florida, I lived for 25 years, where I was born in Caracas, Venezuela. When taking my daughters to playgrounds around our new neighborhood, parents would hear us speaking Spanish and, on several occasions, would approach me commenting how wonderful that was and how they wished their children could learn Spanish too.
That made my Venezuelan heart extremely happy- and given my background and experience of over 10 years in teaching Early Childhood Education, Elementary and love for teaching Spanish; I decided to give it a try!
Right away I got a great response from families who lived nearby. At first, the classes were in person, then due to taking more COVID-19 precautions, we decided to switch to online sessions and that gifted me with students from different locations
My goal as a teacher is to create a positive environment where my students feel comfortable and empowered by their own learning. I continuously work to create enriching lessons where students are engaged while maintaining differentiation to meet the various learning styles.
